Hi Mark I've done quite a bit over the years on coal flotation and frothing including scavenging flotation and coal chemistry as it affects coal flotation performance. Happy to share my experience and a couple of papers.

Mike has summed it up perferctly, having written a few performance guarantees in my time I can confirm that they will usually refer to some very specific feed and process conditions and only apply on wednesday afternoons in August! Having said that they are an excellent way to start a dialague with the supplier to work together to resolve performance issues.
